I started my Fybromaligia clinic yesterday. I think it will be really good. I go through a series of exercises, stretches and therapy. There are also information sessions. Everything is customized to the individual's area of need. I have a few little goals:
start to eat a healthy diet
be able to carry the laundry up and down the stairs
ring the bell at the space science center
touch my toes
climb more mountains with steep hills
There were some other ones, but I don't recall them right now. I know that a few of them had to do with relaxation and self-talk.
It has been recommended to me that I buy a 55" exercise ball to site on while reading and such. It should help me to build my core balance. I was also given some stretches to work on at home and a few hand strengthening activities using the stress ball.
It was also recommended that I maintain a food journal. I have to watch my calorie intake; currently it is too low. I should try to eat around 1200-1400 a day. This might seem low, but it is because I am hoping to lose 20lbs. I have found a great site to help with this: http://www.fitday.com. I wouldn't mind getting the DS weight loss program. I think it would be great to have something that I can carry around with me.
We've started our no watching TV game. I didn't realize how hard it would be. Oddly enough I find myself falling behind on things:
- I fold laundry in front of the TV, so it is pilling up on the couch
- I tend to do my homework with the TV on for noise, so it is taking me longer to complete things
- I ride my bike in front of the TV, so I am doing less time as I seem to find it harder
Poor Doodles didn't make the rep team in hockey. He tried so hard. I think I almost took it worse than he did. He had a cry and then seemed to move his focus over to the next set of try-outs. I was very proud of how far he did make it in the rep try-outs. I am also proud that he tried his best. I wouldn't mind knowing what he could work on for next year's try-outs.
Mr.Magoo is already having a hard time with school. He seems to already dislike having homework and is finding it somewhat difficult to keep up in class. His mood around the house has certainly changed a fair bit. He is, however, really enjoying running club.
Hubby seems to have a bit less energy than he did in the summer. I suppose in part due to the earlier setting sun. He is also busy at work and doing small renos around the house. I am truly blessed to have such a wonderful man in my life.
